The Bright City church was started 40 years ago right in the heart of the town on Bank street.
It operates as a place or worship but also very much a community hub with its well established food bank at the rear.
Th church asked us to upgrade their existing semi commercial kitchen and improve facilities in the adjoining public space as part of a scheme where they run training sessions to teach the vulnerable and needy how to cook healthy meals for themselves on a budget.
After a complete strip out of the existing kitchen we added slip resistant vinyl flooring as a safe and easy to keep clean option.
Budget on projects like these are often tight but with the generosity of our supplier Jemiclad and a little help from us we were able to complete the Upvc cladding of all of the kitchen walls at no cost to complete the area.
The kitchen then had stainless steel furniture, a commercial dishwasher and some refrigeration installed to complete the transformation.
The public area next to the kitchen had a tired cord type carpet that after the room was fully laytexed we added an attractive Gerflor Creation 70 vinyl plank to complete the project.
We are delighted to see that the space was in use a few days after our completion and is being well used and liked by staff and trainees alike,
