Our client owns three characterful Victorian and Gothic style Best Western hotels in the South East, in Canterbury, Folkestone and Eastbourne.
This family-run business needed to fully refurbish two of their main kitchens and their brief was that they should be carried out at the same time and completed on or about the same day.

After a detailed consultation process involving our clients Christian and Daniel, along with other key staff members, design and program of works were agreed for each hotel. 
For each hotel, we first had to create a temporary kitchen area and agree staff routes to and from the dining areas as the hotels were in full operation albeit with a simplified evening menu being offered. 
We also had to consider construction noise, particularly early mornings and lunchtimes to keep guest disruption to an absolute minimum.

The Burlington hotel had an old island extraction canopy built onto a raised tiled area with no drainage. This involved plenty of flooring works to break up the old concrete base and provide drainage for a new pasta cooker to be installed. As this hotel had its dining room directly above we had to be particularly diligent when it came to making construction noise.

Once the floor preparation works were complete we installed a new island extraction canopy with an Ansul fire suppression system, followed by hygienic Upvc wall cladding throughout and Altro slip-resistant flooring.

Installation of Blue Seal and Rational cooking equipment completed the kitchen and the project which was finished on budget and precisely on time.
Our works coincided with the creation of the hotels new ground floor restaurant dining area adjacent to the kitchen all of which is finished to a very high standard,
