Probably the oldest cafe in the Margate area it is steeped in history and has been operating since after the war.
Already a firm local favourite destination it is primarily a breakfast cafe but has certainly never been seen as a 'greasy spoon' due to the high quality ingredients used and high levels of service.

To allow the cafe to continue offering its high standard product the kitchen and serving area were due for an update.
Covid and the lockdown of restaurant businesses provided a rare good news story with  the unexpected opportunity to get the works completed.

After a lengthy and hugely detailed consultation with owner operator Mark the layout of the kitchen and front counter serving areas was agreed along with the formation of a new dedicated dishwashing area which created more space in the busy kitchen.

The complete cafe kitchen and serving area was stripped out allowing for a full electrical upgrade and re-plumbing of the working areas
This was followed by the cladding of kitchen and dishwashing area walls with Upvc hygienic cladding and a new slip resistant vinyl floor.
We then installed a new and slightly tricky L-shaped extraction canopy to bring the full cooking space up to a standard more often associated with a good quality restaurant rather than a breakfast cafe.
New higher powered cooking appliances were installed with service fridges and hot holding equipment all within 1 meter of the chef allowing for an improved efficiency.

The front counter and serving area were fabricated off site to save time then installed to a newly tiled wall and decorated walls making the whole area very up to date and stylish.
Again the features built into the counter such as cup dispensers and drinking water fonts was designed down to the finest detail by our team and guided by the customers wish improve efficiency but still be the cafe that his regulars love.

The refurbishment completed the same week that restaurants were able to re-open and feedback from the customer has been very favourable with a great review left for us below.
Mark has already received high praise from Trip Advisor as is ranked within the top 10% of hospitality business in the world!!
We wish him and his hard working team continued and well deserved success.
