Hythe & Saltwood Sailing Club began in 1961 as Saltwood Sailing Society. The club was initially based at Cannongate, half a mile east of the Hotel Imperial, but was moved to Hythe in 1971 with the opening of the current clubhouse.
The club has recently built and extension to the building to house a more capable commercial kitchen and bar with a view to updating the facilities to members,
Out simple brief was to design an electric only cooking kitchen capable of serving food and drinks to both the passing public and to cub members via two servery windows,

Creating a hygienic and easy to keep clean environment that looked good was important as the kitchen was very visible to its customers.
The addition of slip resistant vinyl and Upvc hygienic wall cladding was completed providing a safe and clean kitchen area.

With no gas supply in the kitchen the club was restricted to electric only cooking so a number of new appliances were supplied all placed below a simple extraction canopy.
Fridges and a dishwasher completed the appliance list and a range of bespoke stainless steel benches and sinks provided adequate working spaces.

The end result has provided the club with the upgrade and additional facilities it needed however the week we completed the job the country went into lockdown!
