Bright City Church, a vital community hub for over 40 years located in the heart of town on Bank Street, combines worship with vital social support. Their well-established food bank supports many vulnerable people, alongside running cooking training sessions that teach how to prepare healthy meals on a budget.

To better support these activities, the church commissioned us to upgrade their semi-commercial kitchen and refurbish the adjoining public space, ensuring a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for both staff and trainees.

Kitchen Refurbishment: Safe, Hygienic & Functional Design ✔️

• Complete strip out of the existing kitchen, removing all outdated equipment and surfaces

• Installed slip-resistant vinyl flooring, providing a safe, durable, and easy-to-clean base

• Supplied and installed Bioclad UPVC wall cladding throughout the kitchen — delivered at no cost thanks to the generosity of our supplier Jemiclad and a little support from our team 🙌

• Fitted stainless steel furniture for durability and professional hygiene standards

• Installed a commercial dishwasher and reliable refrigeration units to meet kitchen demands

Community Space Upgrade: Practical & Attractive Flooring Solution 🎨

• The adjoining public space, previously covered in worn carpet, was fully prepared with a latex base

• We installed Gerflor Creation 70 vinyl plank flooring, a stylish and robust alternative that enhances the look and ease of maintenance of this multi-use area

Project Outcome: Ready for Use & Well-Loved by the Community 💚

The upgraded kitchen and refreshed public space were completed quickly, allowing the church to resume activities just days later. Staff and trainees alike have embraced the new environment, which supports the church’s mission to empower vulnerable people through practical cooking education.
