Aylesford Community Centre is a vital hub, hosting numerous groups and events for the Maidstone and Aylesford communities. The existing kitchen was aging and no longer fit for purpose, limiting the facilities available to hirers of the main hall who required kitchen use.

The brief was clear — the new kitchen needed to be:

• Highly hygienic and easy to clean to meet health standards

• Robust enough to cater for a wide range of community events

After a thorough grant application involving the local council and centre trustees, we were proud to be awarded the contract to transform the space.

Key Features of the Kitchen Refurbishment 🔑

• Upgraded extraction system: Installed a fully compliant, interlocked ventilation system with extract and passive make-up air ducted to the flat roof

• Durable wall and floor finishes:

  • Bioclad uPVC hygienic wall cladding, offering seamless, wipe-clean surfaces

  • Latex applied to the old tiled floor, then covered with Altro Stronghold 30 slip-resistant, hard-wearing vinyl flooring

• Bright and easy to maintain ceiling: Suspended wipe-clean ceiling with energy-efficient LED flat panel lighting to brighten the space

• New catering appliances: A selection of essential, user-friendly equipment to meet event needs
