Broadstairs College is part of the EKC Group and based in Kent. This was a refurbishment of 3 teaching kitchens along with extraction systems.

We worked alongside EKC and the onsite team in delivering 3 kitchens in a timely fashion that did not impact the teaching curriculum.
All three kitchens had a very old and joined extraction system, this was supplied with a failed gas heated tempered air system. All of the commercial catering equipment were well used, worn and outdated.

Time constraints were very tight as our works had to fit around student term time. The plan was to remove the existing extraction system, splitting them into 3 independent extraction systems, 1 for each training kitchen. We were also tasked with changing the old gas cooking equipment to modern induction electric equipment. We highlighted Rational iCombi and Ivario ranges, along with Falcons Induction ranges, Solid tops and Grills.

The extraction design and build was very challenging, lasting 4 weeks. The kitchens are now modern places to teach with the latest cooking technology that has also lowered the colleges carbon foot print. The College were rightfully very demanding but we were certainly up to the task, delivery not one but three modern teaching commercial kitchens.
