Marden Village Club – Kitchen Refurbishment
A Complete Kitchen Transformation for a Thriving Community Venue
Project Overview: Supporting a Popular Village Hub
Marden Village Club is a long-established community venue located in the heart of Marden, Kent. Known for hosting regular social events, private parties, and local gatherings, the club plays a vital role in village life.
However, its well-used kitchen was in urgent need of refurbishment. The original space featured outdated fixtures, tiled walls and a textured ceiling, making it difficult to keep clean and inefficient for modern catering needs.
Following a thorough planning and approval process, the club committee appointed us to deliver a complete kitchen transformation—bringing the space up to modern standards in both functionality and hygiene.
The Brief: A Functional, Hygienic, and Future-Proof Kitchen
The client’s priorities were clear:
-
Replace the tired, unhygienic finishes with modern, easy-to-clean materials
-
Install a high-performance extraction system to manage heat, smoke, and odours
-
Upgrade key kitchen equipment to improve speed and service quality
-
Complete all works within a two-week window to minimise disruption to club operations
Our Approach: Full-Scale Kitchen Refurbishment
Over a tightly scheduled two-week period, our team managed the complete strip-out and rebuild of the kitchen. This included:
1. Removal of the Existing Kitchen
We began by carefully removing all outdated equipment, tiling, and ceiling materials. This provided a clean slate for installing a modern, compliant catering space.
2. Ventilation & Air Management
A new extraction canopy system was installed, complete with both extract and make-up air supplies. This ensured:
-
Safe removal of flue gases and cooking grease
-
Improved working temperatures for kitchen staff
-
Better air circulation and overall kitchen comfort
3. Hygienic, Durable Surfaces
To meet food hygiene standards and simplify cleaning, we fitted:
-
Altro Stronghold Safety Flooring: Non-slip, heavy-duty vinyl ideal for wet and greasy areas
-
Bioclad uPVC Hygienic Wall Cladding: Seamless, low-maintenance panels that resist moisture and bacterial growth
These upgrades created a kitchen that’s not only safer but far easier to maintain long-term.
4. Electrical & Plumbing Adjustments
As part of the refurbishment, we made all necessary electrical and plumbing changes to support the new layout and equipment requirements.
5. New Equipment Installation
To boost the kitchen’s capacity and speed of service, we supplied and installed:
-
A Merrychef High-Speed Oven: For fast, flexible cooking with minimal energy use
-
A Commercial Dishwasher: Ensuring rapid and reliable cleaning during busy events
Final Result: Clean, Efficient & Community-Ready
The completed kitchen is well-organised, professional, and built for performance. Its clean lines and hygienic finishes not only improve usability but also reflect the club’s commitment to delivering great service for its members and guests.
The new ventilation system has significantly improved air quality, while the modern equipment makes daily operation faster and more efficient.
“The photos speak for themselves—what a difference! The kitchen is now a clean, well-ventilated space that our team can be proud of.”
