🍴 The Gastronomist – Commercial Restaurant Fit-Out in Ashford

🍽️ Creating a Unique Dining Experience

The Gastronomist is a modern and stylish event space, and therefore it offers exceptional dining experiences. Furthermore, it combines comfort with conviviality, which means it is perfect for both fine dining events and special occasions. Because of our previous work with another client at the Elwick Place development in Ashford, we were subsequently invited to design and build The Gastronomist. Consequently, as the main contractor, we transformed an empty concrete shell into a fully functional restaurant. Moreover, the space was carefully designed not only to meet high-end dining requirements but also to reflect a distinctive style.


πŸ—οΈ Restaurant Design and Build – From Concept to Completion

Initially, the project presented unique challenges, particularly since the Covid-19 pandemic created many uncertainties. However, these circumstances also allowed us to focus more on the finer details. Therefore, we were able to create a restaurant that was both functional and visually appealing. Additionally, as the main contractor, we handled every aspect of the build, and at the same time, we coordinated all services to ensure a smooth workflow. For instance, we began by designing the kitchen, then we installed ventilation systems, and afterwards, we implemented heating, audio, and waste collection systems. As a result, the turnkey project ran smoothly from start to finish, and consequently, the client was extremely satisfied.


🍳 Commercial Kitchen Design and Equipment Installation

Next, our design team developed a detailed kitchen layout, so we separated prep areas, cooking stations, and dishwashing zones effectively. In this way, the kitchen became safer and more efficient, and simultaneously, staff could work more comfortably. Then, we installed top-quality commercial catering equipment, ensuring the kitchen could handle high-volume service without compromising food quality. For example, we supplied high-performance cooking appliances, refrigeration units, and dishwashers. In addition, we strategically positioned all appliances to improve workflow, so staff could move easily between tasks. Key equipment included Blue Seal cooking appliances, Rational combi ovens for precision cooking, True Refrigeration units, and Maidaid commercial dishwashers, all of which contributed to both efficiency and hygiene.


🎢 Technology and Aesthetic Integration

Moreover, we added audio systems and broadband installation so that the restaurant could meet the expectations of modern, tech-savvy diners. At the same time, we incorporated stylish dΓ©cor and finishes, which enhanced the overall ambiance. Consequently, the space became both practical and visually appealing, and as a result, it created a sophisticated environment for fine dining. Furthermore, the restaurant now features hygienic wall cladding for easy cleaning, slip-resistant vinyl flooring for safety in busy areas, and bespoke lighting to set the perfect mood for diners. Additionally, every detail was carefully chosen so that functionality and aesthetics work together seamlessly.

Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the project remained highly collaborative, so our team worked closely with the client throughout the process. In addition, the client’s input guided many design decisions, and therefore, the final result perfectly reflected their vision. As a result, The Gastronomist now stands as an excellent example of careful planning, attention to detail, and a complete turnkey restaurant fit-out. Moreover, the venue now delivers refined dining experiences that combine creativity with culinary excellence, while simultaneously providing a functional and efficient workspace for staff.
