Situated just a short stroll from the charming Saltwood Village Green, Balgowan House is a historic care home with a legacy spanning over a century. Originally built as an elegant family home, the building has evolved over time—creating a warm, welcoming space with a truly family-like atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.

🔧 Project Brief – From Domestic to Durable

We were tasked with transforming the old domestic-style dishwasher area into a modern, easy-to-clean, commercial wash-up zone that could handle the daily demands of a busy care home.

Our Scope Included:

✅ Removal of the existing domestic kitchen setup
✅ Installation of stainless steel commercial furniture
✅ New pass-through commercial dishwasher system
✅ Hygienic wall cladding and slip-resistant vinyl flooring

⏳ Covid Delays & A Compressed Timeline

Originally scheduled for March 2020, this project was delayed due to Covid-19 restrictions, with care homes rightly prioritising resident safety. Once additional safety measures were approved, we were finally permitted on site in July 2020.

Despite the delays, the window for completion remained tight:
🕗 Start: 8:00am Monday
🕔 Finish: Friday afternoon handover
✅ Delivered with just one hour to spare!

Our team worked efficiently and respectfully, maintaining strict Covid safety protocols throughout the five-day turnaround.

The final handover revealed a bright, durable, and hygienic wash-up room, equipped with a high-performance pass-through dishwasher that:
