🏰 Boys Hall Restaurant & Rooms – Boutique Dining & Hotel Kitchen Design in Ashford, Kent
✨ A Beautifully Restored 17th Century Venue
Boys Hall Restaurant & Rooms, located in Ashford, Kent, offers an exceptional dining and accommodation experience. With a rich history dating back to the 17th century, this stunning venue has been lovingly restored to its former glory.
Owners Kristie and Brad invite guests to recharge, relax, and immerse themselves in the charm of their boutique restaurant and rooms. Whether dining in the restaurant, enjoying a drink at the pub, or sinking into an armchair by the fire, the venue promises a warm welcome and the finest produce Kent has to offer.
🛠️ Our Role in a Unique Kitchen Build
We first met Brad and Kristie during the challenging times of Covid, when they were well into the hotel restoration project, which had already been underway for over 18 months.
After a period of initial design and consultation, we were contracted to design and build the restaurant kitchen within this amazing building.
⚡ A Bespoke, Electric-Only Kitchen Solution
The kitchen needed to be electric-only and designed to fit seamlessly within the historic environment while offering state-of-the-art functionality. For this reason, we created a bespoke one-piece cooking suite to incorporate the best of modern cooking technology, while still respecting the heritage of the building.

Valentine Fryers – efficient, durable deep fryers

Cooktek Induction Hobs – energy-efficient and precise cooking

Flashgrill – versatile grilling capabilities

Integrated drawer refrigerators – strategically placed under the cooking area for convenience
🍽️ Well-Defined Task Areas & Streamlined Workflow
In designing the layout, we focused on task separation to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow. The kitchen was divided into clearly defined sections:

This structure not only increased kitchen productivity but also enhanced the ease of service during peak times.

To ensure a complete, high-quality build, we also provided the following:

UPVC wall cladding throughout the kitchen for hygiene and durability

Slip-resistant vinyl flooring for safety

Two bespoke stainless steel bars with accompanying equipment, creating a stylish and functional front-of-house area
