East Cliff Pavilion Folkestone: commercial kitchen in a historic landmark

Additionally, The East Cliff Pavilion is one of Folkestone's best-known historic buildings, in the heart of the town. Furthermore, As part of its refurbishment, KCK was asked to install a full commercial kitchen, including food preparation and dishwashing areas.

Moreover, The project was more than a kitchen install. Also, It had to introduce modern cooking technology while respecting the building's history, let staff work efficiently and diners enjoy the space, and keep hygiene and safety standards central to the design.

What we did

Modern kitchen, historic building

Layout and zoning

Specifically, we produced detailed CAD layouts for a simple, efficient workflow, with separate zones for food preparation and dishwashing to keep the kitchen clean and compliant and to give the space room to adapt to future needs.

Custom extraction

Additionally, a standard ventilation system would not have worked in a historic building, so we designed a custom extraction system that meets commercial kitchen regulations, fits without damaging historic features, and removes heat, smoke and odours effectively.

Equipment and services

Furthermore, we installed high-performance ovens and cooking ranges for versatile menus, refrigeration and storage for food safety, and energy-efficient warewashing, all tied together with the gas, electrical and plumbing works and bespoke stainless steel fabrication.
