Commercial Kitchen Upgrade & Community Space Refurbishment – Bright City Church 🌟🙏

Supporting Community & Healthy Living 💙🍽️

For more than 40 years, Bright City Church has been a key part of the town on Bank Street. Over time and throughout the years, the church has combined worship with vital social support. In particular and most importantly, it runs a busy food bank and cooking classes that show people how to make healthy meals on a budget. Because of these needs and as a result, the church asked us to improve their kitchen and upgrade the nearby community space. Altogether and in the end, both areas are now safe, clean, and welcoming for everyone.

Kitchen Refurbishment: Safe, Hygienic & Functional Design ✔️

To begin with and as a first step, we removed the old kitchen and cleared away all outdated equipment. After that and moving forward, we made the space modern and practical by:

• Firstly and to start with, laying slip-resistant vinyl flooring for safety, durability, and easy cleaning

• Next and in addition, adding Bioclad UPVC wall cladding (supplied free by Jemiclad, with our support 🙌)

• Then and following on, installing stainless steel furniture for strength and hygiene

• Finally and as the last step, fitting a commercial dishwasher and reliable refrigeration units

Altogether and because of these steps, the changes created a safe and efficient kitchen that now supports both food bank work and training sessions.

Community Space Upgrade: Practical & Attractive Flooring Solution 🎨

In addition to the kitchen work and just as importantly, we improved the public space next door. Previously and before we started, this area had worn carpet that was difficult to maintain. Therefore and as a solution, we:

• First and as the starting point, prepared the floor with a smooth latex base

• Then and after that, installed Gerflor Creation 70 vinyl plank flooring, which is strong, stylish, and easy to clean

As a result and overall, the flooring upgrade has made the space both more practical and more welcoming for community use.

Project Outcome: Loved by the Community 💚

Thanks to careful planning and good teamwork, the work was finished quickly, and the church could reopen just a few days later. Since then and up until now, staff and trainees have been very happy with the results. Overall and in conclusion, the new spaces make it easier for the church to continue its mission of helping vulnerable people with food and cooking skills.
