More about this project

Wild Bread Bakehouse have been producing vegan sourdough bread and bakery treats for sale at the local markets and to other local businesses for 6 years from their small bakehouse in Faversham.
James contacted us to help him take his business to the next level, a café bakehouse providing ethically sourced vegan produce.

Our team helped James find the right building for his new adventure, an empty warehouse unit of 400 sqm over 2 floors.
We produced a design and a complete specification for submission to planning and building control for approval. We also liaised with UK Power Networks to upgrade the incoming power supply.

We designed the downstairs space as a bakehouse in the rear two thirds of the building incorporating a new extraction canopy with a state-of-the-art bakery oven, a new cold room and new stainless-steel sinks and benches. We installed a new shop front in the warehouse to create a café seating area in the front third of the building. Upstairs we turned the empty space into a toilet and baby change area, staff room, kitchenette and workshop/relaxation area for hire by the public.

Kent Commercial Kitchens provided a complete turnkey installation package to including all the construction works a complete electrical, mechanical and plumbing package along with appliances and surface finishes.

An enjoyable project to be involved with from start to finish with a great looking café the result, serving some of the best vegan produce in Kent.
We wish James and his team every success and look forward to helping him maintain the building in the future!
