Project Spotlight: Fairby Grange Residential Home

A Family-Owned Home with Heart

Fairby Grange has been a warm and welcoming part of the community since 1978. Family-owned by Greg and Gaynor Reeve, the home was originally run alongside their two young children, Simon and Debbie. Today, the family legacy continues, with Gaynor and Debbie still actively involved in day-to-day operations.

The home is now expertly managed by Melanie Martin, a highly qualified Registered Manager, ensuring that Fairby Grange maintains its reputation for exceptional care and professionalism. Situated in a peaceful village setting, the home is conveniently close to a range of local amenities, including a Post Office, library, Women’s Institute, two church halls, and various social clubs. With a bus stop right outside the entrance, access couldn’t be easier for residents and visitors alike.

Kitchen Modernisation with Care

Kent Commercial Kitchens was proud to be chosen to help bring Fairby Grange’s kitchen facilities up to modern standards. While the kitchen was immaculately clean and well-maintained, it required an upgrade to improve energy efficiency and meet contemporary operational needs.

The Scope of Our Work

The project involved several key upgrades:

  • Replacement of the existing gas range with a modern, energy-efficient electric induction range oven. This not only reduces energy consumption but also improves safety and ease of cleaning.

  • Installation of hygienic UPVC wall cladding, providing a durable, easy-to-clean surface that meets all current health and safety standards.

  • Flooring upgrade by overlaying the original tiled floor with Polyflor slip-resistant vinyl, offering both safety and a fresh, modern finish.

A Thoughtful Approach to a Sensitive Environment

We carried out all works over a carefully planned two-week period, with the goal of minimising disruption to both staff and residents. Working in an active care home requires sensitivity, flexibility, and coordination—qualities our team brought to every stage of the project.

By collaborating closely with the management team, we ensured that essential services remained operational and that work was completed swiftly and safely, without compromising the comfort and routine of residents.

A Kitchen Ready for the Future

The newly upgraded kitchen at Fairby Grange now combines practicality, hygiene, and efficiency—supporting the staff in continuing their outstanding care in a modern, compliant environment.

We’re proud to support such a valued and long-standing care home, and to contribute to its ongoing mission of providing a safe and nurturing space for its residents.

Client's Testimonial

I just wanted to say how lovely your gang is.  They worked extremely hard, even when there was quite a few in the kitchen and it was fairly warm, they got on with it without any problems.

I like to give credit where it’s due – and your chaps deserve it.
