Safety flooring for commercial kitchens in Kent
Slip-resistant vinyl flooring from Altro, Polyflor and Forbo. Properly coved, EHO-compliant and installed in-house as part of the full kitchen fit-out or as a standalone replacement.
Why Kent Commercial Kitchens
Flooring laid right, at the right point in the programme
Installed in-house - sequenced correctly
Our own team lays the flooring. It goes in at the right point in the programme - after fabrication is in position, before equipment is set down. No separate flooring contractor to chase, no floor laid too early and then damaged by other trades working over it.
Properly coved - not just laid flat
Commercial kitchen flooring must be coved at the wall junctions to eliminate dirt traps and meet EHO requirements. We cove as standard on every project. It is not an optional extra and it is not something we cut out to save time.
Specified to the environment, zone by zone
Wet kitchen, dry store, dishwash area, walk-in cold room - each zone has different slip-resistance and durability requirements. We specify the right product for each area, not the same floor throughout regardless of what happens on it.
Full project or standalone replacement
We lay flooring as part of a full design-and-build project or as a standalone replacement. If your existing floor needs replacing to meet EHO requirements or to address a slip risk, we can survey, specify and install without taking on the whole kitchen.
What's included
The full flooring package
Slip-resistant vinyl
Altro Stronghold, Polyflor Expona and Forbo Surestep specified to the slip resistance required for the kitchen environment and the volume of water and grease on the floor surface.
Coved skirting
Matching coved skirting at all floor-wall junctions as standard. Installed to EHO requirements on every project - no exposed floor edge, no dirt trap.
Zone specification
Different products specified for wet cooking areas, dry preparation, dishwash, walk-in and storage zones. Slip resistance and durability matched to the actual demands of each area.
Screed and substrate preparation
Existing floor assessed for condition and moisture. Screed laid where required to correct falls or level an uneven substrate before vinyl installation begins.
Heat-welded seams
All seams heat-welded to produce a continuous, hygienic surface. No cold joins or open seams where water and contamination can penetrate beneath the floor.
Walk-in and cold room flooring
Flooring specified for cold room and walk-in environments. Temperature-stable products that will not lift or debond under low-temperature operating conditions.

How it works
From survey to finished and inspected
Survey
Existing floor assessed for condition, level and falls. Substrate and moisture requirements confirmed. Flooring specification agreed for each zone before any materials are ordered.
Substrate preparation
Screed or preparation completed where required. Existing floor covering removed and disposed of. Substrate checked for moisture before installation starts.
Installation
Vinyl laid, seams heat-welded, coved skirting fitted at all wall junctions. Installed after fabrication is in position and before equipment is set down on the finished floor.
Inspection
Finished floor inspected for seam integrity, cove quality and surface condition. Any remedials completed before the kitchen is handed over for use.
