The brief

Community kitchen refurbishment Kent: kitchen refurbishment for a busy community club

Additionally, Marden Village Club is a well-used community venue in the village of Marden, mid-Kent — regularly hosting social events, private functions and local gatherings. Furthermore, The existing kitchen had reached the end of its useful life: tiled walls, a textured ceiling, outdated equipment, and a ventilation system that no longer performed adequately.

Moreover, The club committee appointed Kent Commercial Kitchens to carry out a full strip-out and refurbishment. Also, The brief was straightforward: replace all surfaces with compliant, easy-clean finishes, install a new extraction system with make-up air, upgrade the equipment, and hand the kitchen back to the club within two weeks to minimise disruption to their bookings calendar.

What we did

Strip-out to handover in two weeks

Strip-out and fabric

In particular, A community kitchen refurbishment Kent for Marden.

Specifically, full strip-out of the existing kitchen — tiles, ceiling, equipment and fixtures removed. In particular, bioclad UPVC hygienic wall cladding fitted throughout: seamless, moisture-resistant panels that meet food hygiene standards and are far easier to maintain than tiled surfaces. Also, altro Stronghold safety flooring laid across the kitchen — non-slip, heavy-duty vinyl suited to the wet and greasy conditions of a busy catering kitchen.

Extraction and ventilation

Additionally, new commercial extraction canopy installed over the cookline, complete with extract and make-up air supplies. In particular, the system removes cooking fumes, heat and grease-laden air from the kitchen while replacing it with tempered fresh air — improving working conditions and keeping the kitchen compliant with ventilation requirements.

Equipment supply and install

Furthermore, blue Seal cooking suite specified and installed on the cookline. In particular, merrychef high-speed oven for fast, flexible cooking during events. Also, maidaid commercial dishwasher for rapid warewashing during busy periods. Therefore, bespoke stainless steel fabrications — prep benches, sink runs and a hot cupboard — all made in-house at our Folkestone workshop and installed by our own team.
