The brief

Coffee Club Manston: café and servery for a new development

Furthermore, KCK was brought in by Guildcrest Homes, a new client, to design and install a commercial kitchen and customer-facing servery for The Coffee Club in Manston. Moreover, We reviewed the client's plans and drew up an initial layout to understand the space.

Also, As planning progressed it became clear the original footprint would not support a clean workflow or meet hygiene standards. In particular, Critical zones such as dishwashing and dry storage were too tight. Notably, Because the client was also the builder, they were able to act quickly and extend the building by 20 square metres, giving us room for a separate dishwashing area and storeroom and letting us refine the layout properly.

What we did

A layout reworked around the extension

Design and layout

Therefore, With the extra space confirmed, we finalised a bespoke kitchen and bar design built around clear separation of cooking, prep, wash-up and storage, with smooth flow between the kitchen and the front-of-house counter, and durability and easy cleaning throughout.

Fabrication and servery

Specifically, we installed a full stainless steel kitchen and back bar, plus a custom customer servery counter using Cossiga heated and ambient display counters, all built to suit daily café operations.

Extraction, finishes and equipment

Additionally, the fit-out included a commercial extraction ventilation system to remove heat and fumes safely, UPVC hygienic wall cladding, Polyflor slip-resistant safety flooring, and all catering and refrigeration equipment, tested for compliance and reliability before handover.
