A landmark gallery kitchen, rebuilt in a two-week window
Additionally, Turner Contemporary, the landmark contemporary art gallery on Margate's seafront, needed its café commercial kitchen fully refurbished and modernised to keep pace with demand from visitors and staff. Specifically, the kitchen required a complete strip-out and full refit.
Consequently, Redec Refurbishment and Kendrick Hobbs appointed KCK to handle the complete design and installation of the new kitchen. Furthermore, The key constraint, however, was the programme. Moreover, The whole strip-out and rebuild had to be completed inside a two-week window to coincide with the gallery's reopening after the holiday period.

Hygienic finishes
First, the old equipment was stripped out and the space was relined with hygienic UPVC wall cladding and Altro Stronghold 30 slip-resistant flooring throughout, consequently bringing the kitchen up to current food-hygiene standards with surfaces built for a high-traffic gallery café.
Refrigeration and cold storage
Additionally, a new walk-in cold room was installed for temperature-controlled storage, served by a remote condenser unit mounted on the roof — specifically to improve refrigeration efficiency and keep plant noise out of the kitchen.
Fabrication and equipment
Furthermore, we built and fitted bespoke stainless steel fabrication and a Corian ice cream servery counter, alongside the supply and installation of energy-efficient cooking, refrigeration and warewashing equipment sized for high-volume service.
